Hey Guys,
I have a little bit of a different post for you today, but I feel like it's an important one so please carry on reading!
So today I just thought I would write a little blog post and get all of my thoughts down about the current situation of being a blogger. I feel like the blogging community at the moment is a bit up and down and I wanted to share my opinion.
I have been a blogger now for over 4 years which is absolutely crazy but it also means that I have seen a lot unravel in this particular community.

Before I started blogging I had been reading blogs sporadically, it definitely wasn't a massive deal at the time. I mainly followed the blogs of the YouTubers that I watched, for example, Pixiwoo, Zoella, Louise etc etc. I actually used to read some of their blogs even before they started their YouTube channels! This was probably back in about 2009/2010, and being a 'blogger' was the next big thing. However, because it hasn't really been done before, everyone didn't really know how to react, for example when companies would contact bloggers. To be sent products for free or to make sponsored blog posts was such a new concept and everyone was quite unsure of how to tackle it. Readers of blogs would like to be able to trust the opinions of bloggers and then became unsure of who to actually trust after realising that people were getting paid to write a good review. This, of course, wasn't always the case but it certainly did become a problem in the blogging community.
Over the years I’ve learnt who to trust and I know obviously everyone has their own opinions but there are actually own a few people whose blogs I will consistently read for an honest review. Two of these bloggers are Khila from ‘’ and Zoë from ‘MammafulZo’. I’ve followed these for a very long time both their blogs and YouTube. They are two of the nicest people I have found in this industry and they are always very true to their word.
I always hope that my blog comes across as truthful, as that’s always what I have wanted it to be. I started this blog as a hobby as I really loved beauty and I wanted to be able to share my love for it. To be honest that hasn’t changed, and would really hope if you have ever read anything of mine that you have trusted my opinion. I would always let you know if I was sent a product, but I would still give you an honest review of it.
Some people recently have been saying that blogging is ‘dying’, however, I do disagree with this. I personally still read blogs, mainly for beauty reviews or for new places to try.
I just think that so many people have started blogging that it’s hard to tell if some people are just doing it for the hype and the ‘free stuff’ or whether they actually want to do it. I always think it’s such a bonus and a privilege to receive products and to be invited to events and things which I’m honestly so thankful for. However those things don’t happen if you don’t put in the work, for example, I had been blogging for way over 2 years until I went to an event. It really annoys me when people think they can start blogging just for the free stuff like come on babe that’s not how it works haha!!

Although I will always try and support fellow bloggers as much as I can, especially in Wales. Actually recently I have been able to meet some amazing bloggers both in real life and on social media which has been really lovely to be able to support one another. If you are a blogger and would like me to check out your blog then please leave it in the comments on this post or tweet me a link!
Let me know your thoughts on the currently blogging community.
Lots of love,

  1. Thank you so much for the kind words, I am so pleased you enjoy reading my blog and it's nice to be mentioned in great company such as Khila who is also a friend of mine but an amazing blogger and someones opinion I also trust. Loved your post, I think being honest is they only way to be, we can't all like the same things and something I might love, you might hate but as long as our opinions are honest that's what matters :) thank you so much xxxxx
